The useful first question for a Texas law firm is not “Which AI platform should we buy?” It is “Where does an inquiry lose its owner?”
A missed call, an incomplete web form or an unassigned follow-up can move between marketing, intake and attorneys without a clear next step. Our free Law Firm AI Toolkit helps a firm test that handoff with fictional records before connecting a system or using real inquiry information.

What the free toolkit includes
- AI readiness scan: locate one repeatable bottleneck that can be tested without legal judgment.
- Intake handoff demo: organize fictional missed-call and web-form records into a review list.
- Starter prompt pack: use narrow instructions that flag missing information instead of inventing it.
- Human-review checkpoint: keep staff responsible for ownership, corrections and every external action.
Test the handoff with fictional records
Create a short fictional test set: a missed call with no assigned owner, two duplicate-looking records, a web form missing a phone number and a message outside the firm's listed practice areas. Write the expected answer before running the exercise.
The AI task is to organize the records and identify what needs review. It may flag a missing owner, a possible duplicate or an incomplete field. It must preserve the original text and mark uncertainty. Staff decide whether the flag is correct and what happens next.
This kind of test can help a Dallas, Houston or Austin team examine its process without claiming a local deployment or feeding a live inbox into a new tool. The same principle applies in every Texas market: test the queue before automating the queue.
Keep the first test narrow
Do not connect a live inbox for the starter exercise. Do not ask a model to infer the merits of a matter, decide whether the firm should represent someone, determine a deadline or send a message. A polished draft does not establish that the record is correct or that the action is authorized.
Measure the test by what staff can verify: missed exceptions, false alarms, corrections required and review time. Completing more AI tasks is not the same as improving intake.
Our Texas law firm marketing services page explains how the website, acquisition and intake sides should support the same growth plan. The firm's lawyers and intake leaders retain the professional and operational decisions.
Get the Texas toolkit
Use the contact form and write AI Toolkit in your message. We will send the toolkit and offer an optional 15-minute AI fit call to discuss one repeatable bottleneck. The call is not required for access.
For a companion version focused on selecting a supervised first workflow, see the free AI toolkit for California law firms.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a case-management integration?
No. The toolkit is an educational exercise and workflow guide. It does not connect to or prove an integration with a case-management, intake or communication system.
Can the toolkit decide whether the firm should accept a matter?
No. Case acceptance, conflicts, legal assessments and representation decisions remain with the firm's responsible people and approved process.
Is real client or inquiry data needed?
No. The starter test uses fictional missed-call and web-form records. Do not submit confidential, privileged or identifying information.
What happens on the optional AI fit call?
The short call is used to discuss one repeatable bottleneck and whether a narrow supervised pilot makes sense. It is optional and is not required to receive the toolkit.
Disclosure: This is an educational tool, not legal advice. Do not submit confidential or privileged information. No client deployment, attorney review, endorsement, regulatory compliance or software integration is claimed.
